The Body Shop Dragon Fruit Lip Butter

The Body Shop Dragon Fruit Lip Butter is not only good for your lips, but it gives to charity as well. All of the profits received from each Dragon Fruit Lip Butter sold will go to charity (75% to charity and 25% to the Foundation’s global grant schemes). If you are curious which charity will be receiving the proceeds, you can actually help the Body Shop to decide. Each person who purchases one of these lip butters can vote for which charity they would like to support either online or in-store.

If you have never tried one of these before, the Body Shop Dragon Fruit Lip Butter is a good place to start. These are formulated with a super moisturizing shea butter base infused with yummy-smelling dragon fruit oil, beeswax and vitamin E. The Body Shop has community fair trade agreements with Ghana for shea butter and with Zambia for beeswax as well as numerous others.

Not only is it a great lightweight moisturizer for your lips, but it also works well as a cuticle cream thanks to the beeswax. Beeswax serves two functions in this product. Along with the shea butter, beeswax helps to seal in moisture as well as maintain the texture and consistency of the lip butter. In other words, it works as a natural perservative. Are you avoiding parabens? The Body Shop Dragon Fruit Lip Butter is free of parabens, again thanks to the beeswax.

I love the way this lip butter smells. It does have a bit of white pigment due to the shea butter base, so little goes a long way. This lip butter is so moisturizing that there is no reason to “glop” it on. Just applying a sheer layer will leave your lips soft and kissable. Applying too much will leave you with white lips.

Have you tried this lip butter? What was your experience? Did you vote for a charity? I would love to hear from you! Please subscribe and leave comments!

     Until later,
